Ethical Leadership and Communication Darlene Evans Northeastern University Professor McNamara CMN6020 – Ethical Issues in Organization Communication December 16, 2015 Introduction With any type of leadership whether it be parenting, teaching, managing, chief executive officer (CEO) of an organization or politician such as our President or United States Senator, the people who are their followers are only as good as their leader. Each role mentioned above is considered to be role models. When referring to an organization, role models are the leaders of the organization. They could be team leads, managers, directors, or the top person in charge, the chief executive officer. The leaders are responsible for creating the workplace environment. They also set the organization’s cultural standards. From my perspective, it should be so much easier to be an ethical leader. I have not been a manager or a CEO of an organization whose responsibility is to the stakeholders and shareholders, so there may be some naivetà © on my part.
